RN - Out Patient Infusion - FT
FT - Out Patient Infusion RN. Must have valid RN licensure in the state of Oklahoma in good standing.
The Infusion Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients receiving infusion
therapies. This position provides direct patient care related to intravenous
medications, blood products, biologic therapies, hydration therapy, antibiotic
administration, chemotherapy (if qualified), and other infusion treatments
while ensuring patient safety, education, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess patients prior to infusion
treatment, including reviewing medical history, allergies, medications,
and laboratory results.
- Administer prescribed intravenous
therapies, medications, blood products, injections, and specialty
infusions according to physician orders and organizational policies.
- Initiate, access, maintain, and
discontinue peripheral and central venous access devices, including PICC
lines, implanted ports, and central venous catheters.
- Monitor patients during and after
infusion treatments for adverse reactions and intervene appropriately.
- Provide patient and family
education regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, home care,
and follow-up instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians,
pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to
coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and timely
documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with infection
prevention standards, medication safety practices, and applicable
regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality
improvement initiatives and departmental performance activities.
- Maintain inventory and ensure
proper handling and storage of medications and supplies.
- Respond appropriately to medical
emergencies and activate emergency protocols as needed.

Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school
of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification
- Current Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Oklahoma in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(ACLS) certification preferred.
- Desired - Oncology Certified
Nurse (OCN) or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) preferred, if
applicable.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of
clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Previous infusion therapy,
outpatient nursing, oncology, emergency department, or critical care
experience preferred.
- Experience with vascular access
devices and infusion pump technology preferred.
